Responses to Arguments on the Border Crossing

Following Keene, we went to Canada …

It was Ben Franklin who said, “Those who are willing to sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither.” Yet Americans are all too willing to hand over MY rights for their false sense of security, and the borders are a perfect example of that.

In August, me and Cat Pratt traveled to Canada, via the Vermont entrance and left thru the Detroit side–with no passports–in order to practice civil disobedience. We had to forfeit many of our rights to get there and back, but it was all worth it in the end. (See posts Detained at the Canadian Border and Arrested at the American Border)

When we got back to the States and posted this info, we were met with MUCH resistance, and people had quite a bit to say about what they thought about us.They said we were clumsy, sounded suspicious, and were unprepared. … That we should expect for them to search our car and steal our mace. … That we enjoy harassing people in authoritative positions, and that we acted like spoiled brats … and I wanted to respond to all of this.

When being interrogated, I sounded clumsy because I was honestly very nervous, because we wanted to get into Canada SO bad and didn’t know at that point if we’d be admitted. We were also dealing directly with a KNOWN enemy. We were unprepared, as we were representing any other unsuspecting American who crosses that line. Many are unaware of the law change and I’d dare say very few know that’s a “no rights zone”.

I want to be very clear on this again and say that we were NOT going to harass anyone. Our answers all included ‘yes sir’ and ‘no sir’. We wanted to see a country we hadn’t seen before, and we didn’t feel the need to show them our “papers”, as was enforced in Nazi Germany. Why should we have to comply with these ridiculous laws!? It’s absurd. We may have been disobedient, but we were NOT harassing anyone.

To say that we were acting like spoiled little brats, I believe, is a direct attack on the way we look. We’re in a convertible with diamond encrusted Cali tags, we dress in the latest fashions, and we’re traveling with a fru fru shih-tsu … all things that can be considered to have the attitude of an upity, snobby brat, only we are not any of that–if you take two minutes to get to know us!

Someone was demanding to know how our border crossing was beneficial. It’s like this. We are with the media, and we cover current topics. When we see a rights violation, it is our DUTY to report that to the people. You have the right to know, and a lot of this is being done under wraps. Now, we pass that responsibility on to you–to DO something about it. We have done our part, and will continue to fight. With no media, there’s no free-flowing info, and with that, we are a society of ignorance. It is my job to educate, and I have done that.

To the people who said there’s nothing wrong with a chipped passport, please hold out your right hand. Now turn it over, palm up. Now walk straight to Capitol Hill, and ask Obama to chip you … for passport GPS is the first step to TOTAL access. If you didn’t get that, watch Aaron Russo’s Freedom to Fascism again. Twice.

We did get quite a few people who understood us and who were on our side, and a lot of really nice and intelligent comments were made. Thanks to everyone who understands and supports us.

To the person who says that they absolutely do not feel any safer since the border patrol scoped us out … right on.

Having Purified Water now, and in an Emergency

Water is an essential part of our lives, and we should be drinking it all the time. We use it when showering, watering our grass and gardens, and in so many other ways. Most people probably don’t know what is in their water, and also may not be prepared to have water in an emergency, or in a time of natural disasters. Most of us take if for granted, but there are a growing number of people who question what is in their water, and they want to make sure it is filtered or purified.

Some of the bacteria that may be in our water include E. coli and Giardia, which have been found at high levels in many sources of water throughout the USA. The water we drink can also contain high amounts of Chlorine, and heavy metals which can affect our kidneys and central nervous system. Unfortunately chlorine is used in high amounts because water is recycled in a lot of municipal water sources.

Also, Water Fluoridation is a highly debated topic not just online, but throughout the world. A good source of information on the history of water fluoridation can be found in the book “The Fluoride Deception” by Christopher Bryson. I highly recommend reading this book. The book details the history of just how and why fluoride was introduced to the public over 60 years ago, and how scientists falsified information and studies to make fluoride seem as though it was great for your teeth. www.fluoridealert.org is also a great resource on fluoride and its harmful affects on the body.

We need to be aware of these contaminants in our water, and know how to remove them from our water sources not only on a daily basis, but especially in an emergency. Water Purification Systems are plentiful throughout the USA, but we have found one that stands above them all. The Berkey Water Purification Systems have been tested and found to remove Chlorine, E. Coli, and many other contaminants to non-detectable levels. They not only filter the water, they purify the water. Geithner: Auditing the Fed is a “line that we don’t want to cross”

In an interview released today by Digg and the Wall Street Journal, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was pressured about the growing popular movement to Audit the Fed spearheaded by Texas Congressman Ron Paul. A visibly uncomfortable Geithner attempts to dismiss the question by stating “I’m sure people understand that you want to keep politics out of monetary policy.” When Geithner is again pressed on the issue, he makes the stunning assertion that conducting an audit of the Federal Reserve—something never before done in its 96 year history—is a “line that we don’t want to cross,” proclaiming that such a move would be “problematic for the country.” Watch the interview in the player below:

Geithner’s response that auditing the Fed would give politicians dangerous control over American monetary policy is mistaken at best and a deliberate lie at worst. Allowing the public to know what happened to their $24 trillion in bailout money does not give undue control of monetary policy to the people’s elected representatives. Instead, such an audit would finally allow the public to see how their money has been spent in the midst of the largest spending binge in the history of the world’s economy, hardly an unreasonable demand given the well-documented revolving door between the Treasury and Goldman Sachs, the main recipient of bailout funds. Ultimately, the Treasury Secretary is left spewing the absurdity that “I think even the sponsor of that bill recognizes how important it is to us to have the Fed independent of politics,” which can only be said to be true insofar as Ron Paul—the sponsor of House Resolution (HR) 1207— wants to abolish the Federal Reserve system altogether.

That the Wall Street Journal would even pressure the Treasury Secretary on serious issues like the Audit the Fed movement may be surprising, given that the Wall Street Journal is a mouthpiece of the financial oligarchy and that editor Paul Gigot, like Geithner himself, is a Bilderberg attendee. Needless to say, this was not a typical inside-the-beltway interview. Instead, questions were submitted and voted on by the Digg community, with the top 10 questions being posed to Mr. Geithner.

As a result, the Secretary was bombarded by pointed questions about his documented tax evasion from 2001-2004, the wisdom of spending trillions of dollars in the light of long-term dollar devaluation and even, in the words of one particularly irate questioner, “Why are you running the Treasury Department?” Despite presumably having had time to prepare responses to each question well in advance, Geithner is still visibly discomfited by the entire exchange, picking at his shirt cuff and coughing nervously throughout the interview.

In one particularly telling moment, Geithner even admits “We have been forced to do just extraordinary things and, frankly, offensive things to help save the economy.”

That these questions are only being asked now, almost a year into the bailout and several months after the new administration has taken office, further highlights how the controlled corporate media is doing everything in its power to keep to well-trodden and uncontroversial areas in their interviewing of key administration officials. This interview is testimony to the power of the citizen journalism movement that is attempting to hold those in power accountable for their actions. We can only hope that the Obama Administration lives up to their promise to be the “cyber” administration by allowing more such question-and-answer sessions in the future.

The New World Order is Going to Orchestrate American Revolution II

I have some very important and irking questions for you:

1.     Many of us are surprised that, all of a sudden, there is a powerful revolution brewing in America, as if overnight. But was it actually brewing before that, such as with all the anti-war protests through the years that the mass media ignored (among other examples)? Instead, is it the case that the mass media just simply decided to start covering the revolt now (after their police state was in place)? Why are they suddenly covering it now, as if to fuel it?  

2.     There has been an economic collapse in place and occurring for years, but the mass media did not cover it until last fall, when the companies in Dow Stock Index fell by 50 percent. Why didn’t they cover any of the details leading up to that, which were glaringly obvious? And why were they so abrupt in their change to endless coverage of economic collapse, overnight?

3.     The New World Order has existed for thousands of years, but the mass media has done a wonderful job of hiding it from us. But that all changed overnight last fall when the mass media started announcing, all-at-once, and as if somebody flipped a switch, that there is a New World Order. Why suddenly did this happen?

4.     Why did the mass media copiously report on the Tea Parties and ‘End the Fed’ demonstrations in such detail earlier this year? (I previously wrote about this puzzle in a featured article for Infowars.com: http://www.infowars.com/the-end-the-fed-protests-are-the-secret-road-to-world-government/)

5.     Why are ultra-powerful talk-show hosts like Alex Jones, who are gaining incredible momentum daily, allowed to stay on air? Why are they not taken out, set up, or somehow removed from the scene by the secret government (New World Order), since they are clearly a threat to the status quo (especially since this American revolution is brewing)?

6.     Why is the mass media starting to discuss the issues that the infowarriors and patriots have been discussing for decades, but which the mass media utterly ignored, until suddenly last fall when they started to cover them? (For example: Michael Savage regularly discusses false flag terrorism on his radio show, and see my above comments about ‘End the Fed’.) (I previously wrote about this puzzle in a featured article for Infowars.com: http://www.infowars.com/the-new-world-order-is-taking-over-the-patriot-and-truth-movements/)

7.     Obama is falling in the polls faster than any other president in US history. He specifically promised to end NAFTA, end the wars, and so on, but now we see that all that was just a joke — he’s never paid a wink to his promises, and only has gone the other direction (increasing troop levels in Afghanistan, etc.). Question: the New World Order is well engineered, not run by idiots but ultra-geniuses, so they could not have accidentally doomed Obama, so was this downfall planned, as Biden predicted? (Answer: this Obama downfall is no accident.)

8.     Why is the New World Order massively building up police forces and paramilitary squads in the USA, creating huge unconstitutional standing armies, building ultra-massive concentration camp complexes across the nation (both of these the mass media is silent or in denial about), when there is no significant increase in crime over-and-above what has occurred given the economic conditions? (In my town of West Lafayette, IN, a virtually crime-free town with “Officer Friendly” police officers, I will routinely see a dozen police cars patrolling if I make a 4 minute drive from home to the Purdue University Library! What’s the build-up all about?)

 

9.     Why was information on the utter corruption of the Fed, the US Treasury, Goldman, the relations and laundering between those three and between other institutions, how Goldman competitor Lehman Brothers was not bailed out but Goldman was, how Hank Paulson used to work for Goldman, all allowed into the US mass media continually since fall 2008, when for all the decades from 1913 to last fall, any such information was utterly censored from the mass media? Why did the utterly controlled mass media suddenly loudly broadcast this sort of information?

 

 

These are the questions, and if put them all together, you will see that there is a simple answer that starts to appear:

 

The New World Order is now planning the upcoming American Revolution, wants to get behind and actually run the revolution, steering it into their Brave New World — who would ever suspect it!? The New World Order knows that they never can attempt to take over the people in the way they want to without massive revolt, so rather than trying to avoid revolt, revolution, or human renaissance, they want to freely allow these, therein infiltrating and co-opting them, using it for their interests, which they intend to be order out of chaos (New World Order out of chaos!).

 

There is no other reason I can see that explains points 1-9 above. We should be completely unsurprised by this theory, since, as with the French Revolution, the chaos of World War II, the 1960s pseudo-revolution, and so on, the New World Order nearly always either creates the revolutions and/or quietly gets inside them to co-opt them. The latter is what the New World Order is attempting to do right now. The New World Order wants to take over discussions of the Federal Reserve and false flag terrorism in the mass media, for example, discussing them in a distorting way, so people will not go and listen to the pure message from Alex Jones.

 

If the real revolution is about the bankers stealing from us, depleted uranium in our lungs, GM food, fake (staged) pandemics, gun rights, fascism, the Founding Fathers, the greatly increasing poverty, the tent cities, false flag terror, the endless corporate wars, criminal government, staged economic downfall, Big Pharma and Big Oil, and about anti-Constitution politicians, what the mass media will do is report that (my paraphrase) “the town hall protesters are crazy, and they are revolting ONLY against health care (“Obamacare”), there is nothing else going on, and all other non-main-stream issues are for insane people.” Of course the protests are not confined to town halls, and are not only about Obamacare, but are about all the issues that, for example, Alex Jones has been discussing for a decade. But this co-opting of the debate by the mass big-money media steers the discussion to be solely about health care, which is an undisciplined, messy, off-topic, unneeded discussion, and all the real issues the patriots are really shouting about are ignored in the mass media (I say the discussion of health care is unneeded because if humans have proper herbalism, diet, and water, humans remain disease free and diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and so on, which are as common as TV in America, vanish, as was the case with the hunter-gatherers, who in the past were discovered to be in such a state by European settlers first upon contact; see The Nazi War Against Cancer, Princeton U. Press, pages 22-28). So, the mass media co-opts the debate, and can sit back and discuss how there is a revolution that they are covering in their media, but there are all sorts of issues (like false flag terrorism and GM food) that are of course (wink wink!) not part of it, as this article from The Economist very cleverly does: http://the-economist.com/world/unitedstates/displayStory.cfm?story_id=14258768.

 

The Economist article basically does this:

·        lists a set of non-mainstream but mostly verifiable ideas (some were not verifiable, such as the anti-Christ issues)

·        claims they are all derived from either crazy or frustrated Americans

·        claims the ideas are all silly or childish or inane and thus all should be disregarded

·        the only issues to pursue are the fake debates of either Obamacare or the Reps vs. the Dems

·        there is nothing actually going on that is wrong with America

 

Articles like this actually fuel a New World Order orchestrated revolution, because, on the one hand, many Americans will know that this Economist article is a set of lies and red herrings and missing data points, and on the other hand, the rest of Americans will believe the article, and never dream that some things in it can be true, and thus Americans will be set off against each other in a divide-and-conquer scenario. We can clearly see this playing out in low-level-form at the town hall protests already, where somebody will yell a legitimate complaint at some government traitor, and then others in the audience will either attack the yeller, or start yelling in agreement. Clearly a dichotomy is being orchestrated, and the New World Order is possibly all set to orchestrate the revolution where there is

(a) the New World Order and those on the side of the New World Order, against

(b) those against the New World Order.

In the end, the revolution is co-opted because Americans have been taught to trust and believe authority, rather than endlessly question it.

It is critical to understand why this is the New World Order plan: why there is this plan to set (a) and (b) against each other in what could become an all-out bloody revolution (bloody revolution = New World Order orchestrated revolution), rather than a productive revolution, as different groups like the followers of Gandhi and our Founding Fathers were able to carry out. The New World Order could attempt to take us over in any of a dozen ways, but they choose “order out of chaos” (or, what I have rephrase as “order out of attacking the New World Order”, see this article for detailed explanation) in order to carry out maximum misery and hardship and horror. Their goal is chaos (“order out of chaos”), and the way they will instigate a chaotic violent, horrific revolution is by revealing partially who and what they are, so that the people attack them. This is what the world government has always done, as I previously wrote about this puzzle in a featured article in great detail for Infowars.com: http://www.infowars.com/the-new-world-order-wants-the-new-world-order-to-fail-order-out-of-attacking-the-new-world-order/. Think of the big revolutions, they are almost always based on the people discovering the horrific nature of the controllers, and consequently reacting in a knee-jerk, unthoughtout, chaotic spasm-of-a-revolution, rather than a militia movement (in the sense of the Founders, see this article for explanation) and/or a Gandhi-esque non-violent revolution, the only two sorts that have worked.

 

“Oh Please Mr. President!”

Dear Mr. President:

As you are counting the millions of dollars in your campaign war chest, I want you to know that I am having such a hard time and I plead with you to help me! I notice that you are pushing very hard, in spite of half the country being against you, to get folks like me, free health care. I and all the other good little liberals of America, bow down to you for that. You are so kind and benevolent in handing out the people’s money. If it wasn’t for you, the poor, elderly, disabled, ner-do-wells, non-producers, illegal aliens, gang members, criminals and third-world countries would have no one to turn to. Even though everything you are doing isn’t constitutional, we applaud you for your courage to stand up against those rich folks who are complaining that their freedoms and liberties are being eroded by your policies. After all, America is a Democracy and it is what the majority wants that matters, not what some whining minority wants, that have everything anyhow. You and all the other Democrats are always saying that the Constitution is a “living” document and government can interpret it anyway they want. That must be right, or you wouldn’t be doing it, right?

And don’t listen to those people that want you to “fix” our tort system to cut down on those huge court settlements against doctors and hospitals, that raise our health care costs. We need all those lawyers to sue the rich people and wealthy companies to get their money for us, because the rich just won’t give it up willingly.

But Mr. President I need more help than just free health care. I need help with my car insurance, gasoline and car repairs so that I can get to and from my work. Won’t you please set up a national car insurance, repair and gasoline program to compete with the private insurance companies, so that I can get free insurance and free money for gas and funds for my car repairs.

And that’s not all. My home insurance is really high for my $1,000,000 home in the Hamptons and my budget just won’t handle it. I beseech you to use your absolute powers to set up a national home insurance program for those of us who just can’t afford high-priced home insurance. Also, my commute costs from the Hamptons to Washington DC are really getting out of hand and I need some help there too.

And speaking of my home, my mortgage is really high on my million-dollar home that was covered by Fanny Mae and I need help paying that as well. I’m sure it is possible for you to set up a national home mortgage funding pool to help me pay my mortgage ….. a program that will compete with private companies and drive them out of business. If government pays my mortgage for me, we don’t need all those mortgage companies and banks to loan money for mortgages with high interest rates and pre-payment penalties. Get rid of them all. I know that owning a home, provided by government, is my right.

I make so little money Mr. President, that I need help with my legal bills too. My neighbor just sued me because my pit bull bit his baby badly, as she was sunning herself in her playpen in their yard. The bites from my dog put the little tyke in the hospital for 3 months and my neighbor wants a million dollars for medical bills and pain and suffering. Unfortunately, the liability limit on my homeowner’s policy is only $25,000. Please, for all us little people, won’t you intercede on my behalf in court and pay my neighbor the $1,000,000 he wants, minus the $25,000 of course. I know the people of America won’t mind. They are so wealthy anyway. After you have paid the $1,000,000 to my neighbor, please set up a government-run liability insurance company to compete with all those greedy private property and casualty companies. That will show them a thing or two and will help to drive down prices ….. won’t it?

Oh, and by the way, food is costing so much these days, thanks to the government’s wise corn-to-ethanol program and the soon-to-be cap and trade legislation. I know in your heart you don’t want anyone to go hungry, so won’t you please set up a national food store that can compete with our local grocery stores. The competition is good for America and will help to drive prices down, I’m sure.

America should also set up a clothing manufacturer to make clothes for all poor Americans who make less than $250,000 per year. With a government-run clothing company, those other clothing companies will have to go out of business, leaving the government to provide clothing for everyone who can’t afford it, at very low prices.

And one more thing Mr. President. With global cooling coming on, (yes, I know, you say it is global warming but you haven’t been reading my thermometer) I know that my heating bill this winter is going to be horrendous. Won’t you please cut a deal with your buddy Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, to provide us with free heating oil, natural gas or the coal or electricity that we need to heat our homes for all coming winters.

Since your are being so generous, you need to take over the car companies and design cars that all poor Americans can afford and that get really good gas mileage. You also need to set lower salaries for these greedy CEO’s who rob their companies of profits, that belong to the workers. Oh, I forgot. You have already done all that.

Lest we not forget the poor people in third world countries, America needs to set aside Twenty Five Percent (25%) of America’s gross domestic product and give it to poorer countries without any strings. America uses up so much of the world’s resources, we must act in kind and return our ill-gotten wealth back to those countries who provide our natural resources, that feed our gluttoness society.

And to pay for all these programs, just tax the rich people up to 90% of their earnings, or have the Federal Reserve print up however much money you need. The rich folks don’t need all that money anyway and you promised to “spread the wealth” if you became president, didn’t you? Us poor, disenfranchised people, are holding you to that promise. As a suggestion, why don’t you get all the churches in America behind you, to support all these social programs, as the right and moral thing to do. We are such a compassionate nation. You also need to set up a White House-paid system to send an e-mail to every American from your henchman, David Axelrod, that it is every rich American’s duty to provide help to those who are not able to afford these exorbitant living expenses on their own. Explain it to them by strong language, so that they really understand where their duty lies.

And doesn’t it say somewhere Mr. President, you know, like in the Constitution or something, that having free everything in America, is my absolute individual right, granted to me by my creator? Through this letter to you Mr. President, I hereby demand those rights and it is your duty as president to provide all this “free” stuff for me, no matter who has to pay for it, or where the money comes from. So please Mr. President, do your duty.

In closing, let me thank you and all the other people that support you, for allowing me to work for our most gracious and generous government as a rule-making bureaucrat, at my current salary of $249,950. Since I earn less than $250,000 per year, I know you don’t want to tax me any more and I’m holding you to your pledge. Also, I would like to thank all those dependent Democrats who live in America’s big cities, for electing you as our president. We’ve never had a benevolent King before and we know that everything you are doing and trying to do, is solely designed to help the little people in America, instead of rewarding all those wealthy folks who live off of our sweat and labor ….. no matter what silly, unimportant constitutional provisions you have to break to get it done.

Thank you ….. Thank you ….. Thank you, Mr. President. You are our savior and King. We bow down to you and your divine wisdom. Long live Obama, the King! May he be re-elected by the wise people of America every four years, forever.

How to Fight Back Against Genetically Modified Foods

With genetically modified (GM) foods dominating the United States’ corn and soybean crop today, Monsanto - the company most responsible for GM foods - has also dominated most of South Africa`s seed crops as well. As reported by Barbara Minton here at Natural News in April, a huge crop failure there is directly attributed to this lack of seed diversity. So how do Americans, and people world wide, fight back against this takeover of food sources by GM foods? To answer that, the GMOs themselves as well as the way the company who makes them operates should be understood. That will show how real, grassroots, actions that everyone can participate in will work to stop this monopolization of the world’s food.

How GM Foods and GMO Works
The most common modification that Monsanto makes to seeds is to create HT-ready crops (”herbicide tolerant” crops). These are crops that are able to withstand Monsanto`s other product, RoundUp, to a strong degree. This increases crop yield by allowing the farmer to spray liberally with the RoundUp herbicide to kill weeds and some parasites.

The problem? Well, obviously, all that spraying can`t be good for anybody. It also is severely destroying seed diversity in the agricultural markets - over 90% of American soybean crops are now genetically modified organisms (GMO). About 70% of our corn crops are also GMOs.1

Now that Monsanto has a virtual monopoly on those seeds, they`ve announced that they`re raising seed prices by up to 42%, as reported in Bloomberg on August 13.2

Further, as Ethan Huff pointed out in his article here at Natural News, there is plenty of reason to question the health problems associated with GM crops.

Currently, Monsanto is working to corner the market on GMO wheat crops in the U.S. If their progress there is anything like it`s been with corn and soy, they could hold 70% or more of the seed market within fifteen years.

Monsanto`s gangster tactics can be seen in the documentary movie The World According to Monsanto by Twilight Earth.3 This is how they`ve gained their monopoly.

Fighting Back Against Monsanto and GM Crops
First and foremost, stop financially supporting Monsanto as much as possible. This means scouting out and avoiding GMO foods on the grocery store shelf, not buying Monsanto`s products, and more. As Shelly Roche of Bytestyle.tv says, “Vote With Your Fork!”

Civil Disobedience at Walden Pond

Henry David Thoreau was not only an amazing author and poet, he was an avid tax protester and was even jailed for refusing to pay his poll tax. So our next stop on the map was Walden pond in Concord, Massachusetts, and we visited the house Thoreau built and lived in, located on the property that once belonged to Ralph Waldo Emerson, an area known for being disconnected from society.

The very first thing we noticed was quite upsetting. The Thoreau Society has opted to force all incoming travelers to pay $5 to the government for parking, and signs made threats of ticketing if you don’t. What’s more, there’s nowhere within comfortable walking distance to park in the area for free.

You could bypass the fee at the gift shop–but ONLY to go in the store–and those who wandered around the property would be FINED, says the lovely signs in front of every single spot. We spontaneously agreed to make this our next mission: to not pay the fee or the fine and to get to park front and center. We were NOT going to pay the government to get out and look at a pond!

Thoreau’s most known work is Civil Disobedience. Do you really think he would agree with having citizens of this country taxed to look at some water? And threaten them to have to pay extra if we don’t? To us, the idea of being forced to part with $5, was absurd. So we didn’t.

We parked and went into the gift shop, where, the guy in charge immediately took a liking to us. He gave me a copy of Civil Disobedience and Other Essays, and gave Cat a bumper sticker that ironically says, “…all good things are wild and free. (- H.D. Thoreau)” and he argued that people coming to see the area should have to pay, since, they can’t rely on donations and besides, he says, the money goes towards grounds keeping. (A strongly suggested donation of $5, would’ve been a fair trade, and me n Cat would’ve gladly paid.)

He failed to convince either of us, but in the end, he liked us so much, he outright offered to let us park there without pay, not knowing about our plans for civil disobedience. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED … almost. We went to see the cabin and taped a webisode for the Reality Report, but by the time we got back, we found a nice little $50 ticket on the car, and the guy who had given us permission–was long gone.

After tracking down the head Park Ranger, we explained what happened, and he changed the ticket to a warning. (A warning for what, I do not know!)

Thoreau would NOT be proud!

It was the wise Henry David who said, “Unjust laws exist: shall we be content to obey them, or shall we endeavor to amend them, and obey them until we have succeeded, or shall we transgress them at once? … Those who, while they disprove of the character and measures of a government, yield to it their allegiance and support, are undoubtedly its most conscientious supporters, and so frequently the most serious obstacles to reform.”

And goes on to say …. “ … but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine.”
