JACK BLOOD

BIO:
From 1979 – 1994 Jack Blood was the lead singer for several rock and roll bands in Seattle, Washington, Los Angeles, California, and Providence, Rhode Island. During that time had written or co-written and recorded over 500 songs, and played over 1000 live shows. Now with the Austin, TX band: The Austin Texas rEVOLutionary All * Stars, Jack stays plugged into the music scene, and unplugged from the Matrix.
Jack Blood also knows the music business and what it takes to get noticed, and heard.
In 1995, Jack began hosting his first talk radio show, “FUZZBOX” as “Spider E. Veins” which was broadcast on a 50,000 watt AM talker in New England. “At night, when we went on weekly, that station would reach from PA – Maine, running illegally at 50 K.
The show was a devise to highlight all of my favorite underground music heroes, who were unfortunately never included on FM play lists.”
The show quickly became a “game changer” in Rhode Island radio, and led to copycat shows on late night FM radio. (This would happen again years later in Phoenix, AZ with the sequel show: “DEADAIR” with the Late “Harry Gothic JR” (AKA Jack Blood). Aired late night, from 1998 – 2000, on another 50,000 watt Blow Torch heard from TX – California. That format developed into “Revolution Radio” launching some of the most popular and unique radio shows in Phoenix history, again changing the landscape on FM.
Some of the guests included on these shows were: Greg Ginn (Black Flag) Dave Vanian (The Damned) Rat (The Varukers), Courney Love (Hole), Richie Stotts (The Plasmatics)
Spit Sticks (FEAR), Jayne County ( formerly Wayne County) Kembra (Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black) Bill Leeb ( Frontline Assembly / Wilhelm Schroeder – Skinny Puppy), Daniel Ash (Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, Love and Rockets) Jack Grisham (TSOL) GWAR, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Nashville Pussy, Richard Cheese, The Dwarves, The Queers, Exene Cervanka (X), Reverend Horton Heat, Duff McKagan (GnR) Joey Shithead (DOA), Lee Rocker (Stray Cats) Mike Thrasher (Gwen Mars) etc, etc….
In 2001, after a brief reissue of “Fuzzbox” and just four months before September 11th 2001, DEADLINE LIVE w/ Jack Blood was born.
For the last 8 years, DEADLINE LIVE has become one the highest rated most listened to underground (alternative) News / Talk shows on the scene. Interviewing the likes of Tim Russert, Ollie North, and quality anti “New World Order” – Pro Liberty researchers and guests, Jack still kept the show tuned to music, occasionally interviewing “truth” musicians like John Joseph of the Cromags, Scott Kelly from Neurosis, Warren Cuccurullo (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Duran Duran) Sage Francis, and many, many local musicians, and truth artists…
This show still airs today and information on this broadcast can be found at Jack’s home site http://www.deadlinelive.info
