The struggle in Northern Ireland can quickly be compared to British control of the early American colonies. Turned into a “religious conflict” by royal puppet masters, it is the Irish people who suffer a different sort of war. Belfast rapper JUN TZU grew up in the Rathcoole housing projects in Northern Ireland in a family very much effected by “the troubles” as they were known. JUN’s father was one of the top men in the UVF, the most feared and vicious of the paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland in the 1970’s. The UVF was the equal opposite to the IRA in the Irish struggle. In a twist if irony it was Jun’s father who played football (soccer) with the lengendary IRA prisoner Bobby Sands before things got crazy. After being locked up for ten years Jun’s father became a devout Christian. Seeing himself in his boys eyes he realized that it was only a matter of time before his sons would be recruited into the para military. Risking execution from his former UVF comrades for leaving, he decided to move the family to Britain in an effort to shield his young sons from the situation. It seemed that Jun had some demons of his own that would follow him despite his fathers efforts. Arrested for robbery, class a drug possesion, beating a teacher half to death and holding his entire class hostage with a potato knife in school, Jun just couldn’t seem to adjust to his new surroundings. A known fighter in his new home of Manchester England Jun experienced anti-Irish bigotry from the people his father was supposed to be supporting all those years ago . After serving up knuckle sandwiches to the locals for a few years in retaliation and a subsequent trip to the looney bin, Jun realized that the conflict itself made absolutely no sense. He began writing about his experiences. Risking life and limb breaking away from the traditional political bigotry found on both sides of Northern Irish struggle, JUN writes about his personal life experiences in his Raps. Tensions run high in Northern Ireland and stepping into the political center of the conflict can get you shot. One thing is for sure there’s no fear in his raps. In conversation Jun and I have shared our ideas about the NEW WORLD ORDER, global tyranny and how it all relates to the Irish predicament. JUN TZU made an important comment about doing something when you know about the injustices around the world. Enough talk- Lets see some action. We welcome JUN TZU exclusively to POLYGRAPH RADIO.
